Notably, ARK: Survival Evolved, or ARK: Survivor's Pack on PS4, topped both the North American and European list for the month. Here are the full lists for North America:

With the Holidays occurring (bolstering sales of AAA game's that may have lingered off the charts), numerous sales coming and going, and the lack of notable releases,  December is always an odd month when it comes to software sales charts. That being said, all the above listed factors, make the December charts perhaps less useful than other months, and harder to read into.
