Niantic Adds Pokemon GO Update to Ring in the New Year

While the seasonal cold weather may be turning many Pokemon GO players off from trekking through their neighborhoods, Niantic is trying to change your mind. Niantic’s latest update has ushered in the second part of their holiday update. From now until January 8, players will discover more of Kanto’s original starter Pokemon (and their evolution chain).

Additionally, Lure Modules — tools used in-game to draw Pokemon to PokeStops — will last for double the time. Instead of the usual 30 minute limit, they will now last 60 minutes.

As mentioned previously, this is only the second part of the holiday event. Pokemon GO currently has an increased chance to hatch Togepis, Pichus and Johto Pokemon.
