Pokemon has always been a powerhouse success for Nintendo's handhelds, but with the release of Pokemon X&Y over this past weekend, The Big N is already on track for big results with the latest entries in their long-running franchise.

After debuting on Saturday, October 12th, Nintendo has tracked that collectively Pokemon X&Y has sold over four million units worldwide, collecting sales from the games' simultaneous launches in Japan, Europe, and both North and South America since their launch. As the first-ever global launch in the series' history, this has been big news for both Nintendo and The Pokemon Company: Pokemon X&Y are now the fastest-selling 3DS games ever, and the sales results for X&Y and already tracking over 70% ahead of last year's entries, Pokemon Black & White 2.

With a collective 245 million titles sold in the series altogether, four million is certainly nothing to scoff at, and definitely shows a warm welcome back to the Pokemon series with X&Y's release.
