Popular Soccer Star Zlatan Ibrahimović Advertises Xbox One (Rather Awkwardly) in New TV Commercial

French TV commercials are often rather peculiar, and this one for the Xbox One isn’t really an exception, featuring massively popular Paris Saint-Germain player Zlatan Ibrahimović as he advertises the console while sitting on a throne and wearing something that I don’t even really know how to describe (but that seems to aim for some kind of trashy elegance, I guess), with fingerless gloves.

During the commercial he proceeds to say “Zlatan never loses” only to deny his identity when he actually does lose at FIFA 14.

Despite the awkwardness of the TV commercial, we shouldn’t underestimate the marketing power of this kind of testimonial in France. When it was first announced it tipped the Twitter scales very solidly in favor of Microsoft’s new console, at least temporarily.

How many Xbox One units will he manage to sell? We’ll have to wait and see, but honestly his choice of gamer seat doesn’t look too comfy.
