Few Visual novels are as popular in Japan as Steins;Gate by 5pb. and Nitroplus. The game was originally released on Xbox 360 (and many would say contributed to a large slice of meager local sales of the console) and then ported to PC, PS3 and PlayStation Vita.

The series was so popular that it generated five manga series, a chart-topping anime series and an anime movie. A squel for Xbox 360 and PS3 has also been published recently.

Unfortunately the game was never published in the West, and enjoying the extremely complicated plotlines in Japanese is very difficuly. Luckily, this is soon going to change, as the visual novel and eroge publisher JAST USA just announced at Anime Expo that it acquired the publishing rights for the game, that is finally going to get an English Localization.

A release date still hasn’t been announced, and only the PC version has been confirmed so far, with no word about the console versions. The game will have English text and the original Japanese voice overs.
