Portal 2 Clears 3 Million Sold Copies, Deserves Every One

Has anyone heard a single negative word about Portal 2? I mean, in any regard? I haven’t, and it isn’t everyday that a game gets such universal critical acclaim. What’s more common is a game getting the praise it deserves, while not making any significant dents on the sales end of the spectrum(cough Bayonetta cough). That has not become the case for Portal 2.

Valve President Gabe Newell announced at this morning’s Games for Change event that the game has so far sold – not shipped – a whopping three million copies. Because no specific versions or platforms are mentioned, it’s assumed that this figure encompasses all versions of the game. No matter how you slice it, those are fantastic numbers. Now Portal 2 can be referred to as both a raging critical and commercial success.
