As E3 2015 is behind us and shows like Gamescom and Paris Games Week are gearing up, later this summer will also bring the return of PAX Prime to Seattle, with this year’s show to feature a kick-off keynote from the designer behind hits like Portal and Left 4 Dead.

The official PAX Prime website announced that game designer Kim Swift will be the keynote speaker at this year’s PAX Prime 2015, following her work as the lead designer of Portal and also working with Valve on Left 4 Dead. Swift now works as a senior game designer at Amazon Game Studios, and is currently in development on a secret project with the studio.

The event organizers at PAX Prime detailed Swift’s reveal as the keynote speaker in a statement on the official website:

“We really try to look for landmark people who have been pivotal to gaming culture to open our event, so you can understand why we are thrilled to have her at Prime this year.  Kim is a senior Game Designer at Amazon Game Studios and has been instrumental in the development of major titles such as Portal, Left 4 Dead, Quantum Conundrum, and Soul Fjord. We can’t wait to hear the stories and insight she will share at Prime this year!”

PAX Prime 2015 will take place from August 28th – 31st, 2015 in Seattle, Washington.
