Project Sora Shuts Down

on July 10, 2012 11:25 PM

Project Sora, the team behind Kid Icarus Uprising, has closed it doors. Founded and owned by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and Kirby creator Mashiro Sakurai, the largely Nintendo owned studio announced that the studio has dissolved and the website will shut down at the end of the month. No explanation was provided as to why the studio shut down.

Last month, Nintendo announced that Namco Bandai will be at the helm of the next Smash Bros. title, but it was also stated that Project Sora would be in the background, lending a hand. Apparently such was not the case, here’s hoping that Namco has what it takes to do justice to the next Smash title.
