The new expansion for Tropico 5, "Espionage", will release on May 28 for PC, Mac, SteamOS for $20 USD. The expansion will come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 versions at a later date.

Tropico 5: Espionage will introduce a new campaign titled, "The Maltese Toucan" consisting of six new missions. New gameplay elements include Security Checkpoints that you can install at borders to capture enemy agents and throw them in the new Dungeon building. A Spy Academy so you may train your own spies to steal technology from enemy countries. A Ministry of Information to introduce data privacy laws, and a Police Blimp and Mechanized Garrison for handling any state of emergency.
