Earlier this spring, fighting game enthusiasts were able to jump back into the ring and pull off brutal Fatalities in the recently-released Mortal Kombat X, and while those on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile have been able to enjoy MKX's brutal brand of violence for over a month, it appears PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will have to wait far longer for their stab at the game (pun intended).

Several GameStop employees confirmed in a report from Kotaku that the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of Mortal Kombat X, originally scheduled for a summer release and marked with a "June 2nd" release date on GameStop's website, to instead be changed to a nebulous "December 31st, 2015" placeholder date on the retailer's website, indicating that it could be some time before last-gen consoles will get a little love, Mortal Kombat X-style.

Mortal Kombat X is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android, with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions delayed to late 2015.
