PS3 Version of Skullgirls Region Locked

on May 3, 2012 8:30 PM

Yesterday, the highly acclaimed indie fighter Skullgirls finally released for European PS3s. However, a startling realization came along with this release – the game is region locked! Designer Peter Bartholow has updated the Skullgirls site confirming this, after receiving numerous reports. Apparently, the game ties your region to whichever PSN store you bought the game from.

Someone who purchased the game from the US store will face a connection error when trying to play with someone who bought their game from the EU store and vice versa. Peter promises the team is working around the clock to alleviate this issue, but urges players to only fight against others from the same country for the time being. Currently no such problem exists for the 360 version of the game.

How do you guys feel about this?
