PS3/PS Vita Remote Play Resurfaces with a… Japanese Visual Novel

There’s a lot of talk about remote play between PS4 and PS Vita, but the feature ended up being pretty much overlooked between Sony’s portable and the older PS3, enabled only on a very limited amount of games because it required the developer to set aside precious hardware resources for it.

As we learn as part of an interview to Yeti’s Takumi Nakazawa on Dengeki Online PS3/PS Vita is going to make a comeback, even if it’s in a game that we most probably won’t get to play (at least in English), the PS3 version of the mystery/psychological visual novel Root Double: Before Crime * After Days Xtend edition.

We will support remote play on PS Vita. if there’s an internet environment it’ll be possible to play Root Double on the (screen of the) PS Vita by running it on the PS3.

There you have it: Remote play between PS3 and PS Vita isn’t completely dead, but it’s unlikely we’ll ever see it on a high profile title. Better than nothing? That’s for you to judge.
