PS4 1.7 Update’s SHAREFactory Screenshots Show a Great Video Editing Suite

Sony Computer Entertainment just announced SHAREFactory, a video editing suite coming with the 1.7 software update, and Community Manager Chris Owen just shared on Twitter a couple screenshot of the app itself and its logo.

SHAREFactory could very well be the rumored feature the folks behind Sony Vegas Pro were working on, and from what we can see it definitely looks like it includes a great set of tools, even if it lacks Sony Vegas’ non-linear approach (but that would be too much to ask. Good non-linear video editing suites normally cost over 500 bucks).

Having used a lot of video editing software, it’s easy to recognize the most popular tools in the suite. They seem to be in line with very popular linear software like Microsoft’s Movie Maker, with the addition of nice little features like overlay stickers.

You won’t be able to complex stuff like multi-track editing, but that’s something not really needed at this kind of level.

One thing is for sure: SHAREFactory will definitely kick creativity up a notch with PS4 video sharing.
