PS4 Exclusive Disgaea 5’s First Teaser Trailer Is All About Revenge; Won’t Be Cross-Gen With PS3

During Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, Nippon Ichi Software announced the new chapter of the Disgaea series with a teaser trailer, which will be exclusive for PS4 and will be released next spring.

The trailer, which you can see below, is strongly themed about revenge, which will also be the main theme of the game itself.

Nippon Ichi also denied the possibility of a cross-gen release with PS3, as President Sohei Niikawa told Famitsu, as reported by the Japanese blog Gamestalk. Niikawa mentioned that a cross-gen release was initially considered, but the company decided against it, as it would have automatically set the PS3 as a limiting factor for the game, while Nippon Ichi wanted to create something that can only be done on PS4.

Niikawa also mentioned that PS4 can display up to 100 characters, compared to the ten which would be possible on PS3.

Check out the trailer below, while we wait for further news from Nippon Ichi.
