PS4 Exclusive Driveclub Is Still The King of Racing Graphics on Consoles With First Urban Track

Driveclub is a great game, and with the update that has just been released today, especially wheel owners have one more option to enjoy its gameplay thanks to the hardcore driving model. Yet, the first urban track, made available as usual for free, really hits the spot with eye candy.

If you’re wondering about what the new track looks like, we recorded a replay of a full race with a variety of lighting and weather conditions, and snapped the usual metric ton of screenshots for you to enjoy.

Even this time around, the true strength of Driveclub‘s graphics is boosted by the amazing lighting, and by the way the physically-based rendering of surfaces reacts to the light. While we’re still a step or two short of full photo-realism,  it’s hard not to spend a lot of time just panning the camera around and exploring every nook and cranny of Evolution Studios’ “Old Town.”

The Runcorn-based team led by Paul Rustchynsky knocked it out of the park once more. Not only “Old Town” looks great, but it’s a lot of fun to drive on. It’s also free for those who already own the game, so what’s not to love?
