Project Manager of Sony Interactive Entertainment America Nick Accordino released more details about their upcoming action-adventure game Gravity Rush 2, coming to PlayStation 4 on December 2.

Gravity Rush 2 begins with main protagonists Kat and Syd as they find themselves in a gravity anomaly that takes them away from the comfortable town of Hekseville and leaves them in the mining town name Banga.

Banga is a port town controlled by a leader named Lisa. Mostly inhabited by minors, the town’s people collects a mineral known as “Gravity Ore”.

This relocation forces the duo to make it on their own without the help of Kat’s trusty cat Dusty to provide her with power.

Additionally, new characters were detailed including, Lisa, the leader of Banga. Evidently, she is feared and respected by the town’s people, but she has always prioritized their safety. Additional towns people include:

  • Vogo – A merchant who runs “Sun Shipping”. However, he might be running an illegal business venture involving military equipment.
  • Cecei – Lisa’s adopted daughter who is quiet most of the time. Kat must find her after the town found out that she ran away from home.
  • Fi – Vogo’s bodyguard who is skilled in martial arts.
  • Misai – Top miner in Banga who criticizes Kat.

The full campaign of Gravity Rush 2 will include over 50 missions in an open world environment that players will be able to explore. Doing side quests will offer additional story scenes for players to learn more about the new cast.

Concluding the announcement, Accordino reveals details about The Rift Plane. A nevi filled land where Kat must find “Giant Stone Tablets” to point her in the right direction.
