PS4 Exclusive NieR: Automata’s First Gameplay Trailer Shows Absolutely Explosive PlatinumGames Action (UPDATED)

on October 29, 2015 6:43 AM

During a panel at Paris Games Week with Producer Yosuke Saito and Director Taro Yoko, Square Enix showcased the first gameplay trailer of the upcoming PS4 exclusive action JRPG NieR: Automata.

Yours truly challenged the (slightly rowdy, especially when t-shirt throwing was involved) crowd in front of the stage to bring you the first look on the trailer, that looks absolutely explosive.

Later in the presentation, it was confirmed that the game will run at 60 frames per seconds (even if the trailer runs at 30). This is perhaps unsurprising, considering that PlatinumGames values a high frame rate for its games.

It actually starts slightly slow (but very funny) with an introduction in which Yoko-san and Saito-san go to Paris Osaka in order to find something to show at Paris Games Week.

Wait until the end, and you’ll be rewarded by true-blue PlatinumGames-style action.

Update: Added the official version of the trailer from Square Enix. Don’t forget to check the other video for Yoko-san and Saito-san’s adventures, that aren’t included in the official video.
