The Last Guardian will run on a PS4 near you a little later than what we anticipated, but to make the wait more bearable, Sony Interactive Entertainment granted DualShockers the chance to record sixteen minutes of gameplay.
The gameplay below, with yours truly at the controls, was played and recorded on a standard PS4 with the top quality permitted by our Elgato capture device.
You’ll probably notice that at times I hesitate quite a bit. That’s simply because it was the first time for me to play The Last Guardian, and the level I tested is set a while into the game, meaning that I wasn’t able to play the initial areas, where you’re supposed to actually learn the control.
That said, the game looks gorgeous, and Trico definitely feels like a living creature with a will of his own, instead of a simple pawn that will do whatever you command with robot-like precision. That’s actually quite refreshing.
But without further ado, I leave you with the videos.
The Last Guardian will launch exclusively on PS4 on December 6th in North America, Australia, and Japan, while in Europe it will come one day later, on December 7th.
