Ready at Dawn and Sony Computer Entertainment are continuing to give more hints and information on The Order: 1886 on the lovely alternate reality website dedicated to the game.

This time around, we get a passage that sheds more light on the power of the mysterious black water, which is a pivotal element of the game’s setting.

We made it out. Barely, after accidentally setting off an electrical weapon in Tesla’s lab. But not before finding what I went there for. In my great-grandfather’s journal, he talked about “Blackwater” – a liquid that was said to heal any wound and even more unbelievably, prolong human life. Key to the liquid’s powers was a special vial. A scarred, weathered vial that I found next to the journal, wrapped in oilcloth.

Below the Order’s headquarters, in the depths of the catacombs was what looked like a massive crypt. Near it sat an ornate vessel atop a pedestal with a shimmering dark liquid in it.

I tried as best I could to understand the process from the jumbled notes in the journal and I believe I figured it out… I dipped the vial into the vessel… as I removed it looked as if it was made anew – the dents and scratches seemed to be gone. I drank from it and tasted nothing, felt nothing… my doubts grew. As we made our way to safety, I stopped – I had to know. I pulled out my pocket knife. I cut deeply into my hand. The blood flowed freely – but it seemed darker, thicker, imbued with a strange intensity… I put the vial to my hand, and filled it with the blood…

And now, safely above ground, the vial sits on the table in front of me. Can it be true? Is it possible that it really works? Somehow I feel it must. And I’m willing to put my life on the line to prove it…

Interestingly, there’s more, and looks like we can expect a video about it sooner or later.

This is the vial that Ian found. It’s old. Really old. I’m not an expert but I’d wager it’s been around for at least 500 years. Amazingly it looks in perfect condition. I thought Ian was insane for filling that it with stagnant water, drinking from it, and then cutting himself and putting his blood in it WHILE in the middle of trespassing into a centuries old secret headquarters. But that was nothing… what he did next… what we did… that was something else entirely. Something I will take with me to my grave. I’m still debating whether or not I should share the video…

Below you can see four new pictures, showing more of the lovely  real life reproduction of Tesla’s laboratory, and a vial of black water.

I don’t know about you, but I feel that the Order has some very dark secrets to hide. The more I hear and see about the black water, the more I feel that there’s a lot more about it than a simple liquid that heals wounds.
