PS4 Officially Launches in Europe, Will Launch in UK in One Hour: “Greatness” is Here

on November 28, 2013 6:00 PM

The PS4’s Motto “Greatness Awaits” has finally found purchase in all those countries that follow the Central European timezone, which includes most continental Europe, excluding the United Kindom, Ireland, Iceland and Portugal, that stick all by themselves to GMT and that will have to wait one more hour for the count down to reach zero.

The much awaited new console by Sony is now available across Europe, at least for those that have a store open at midnight nearby, while everyone else will have to wait for the morning.

Sony itself threw parties and launch events in quite a few capitals, distributed blankets and pizza in the UK, lit up the Pope’s summer residence in Italy (and “destroyed” it with a dragon), while gamers stood in long queues to bring their new baby home.

European gamers like me had to wait quite a lot longer than their North American cousins (but I guess we’re used to it by now), but at last “Greatness” is here.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
