PS4 Passes 1,500,000 Units Sold in its Japanese Home Turf Despite Slower Momentum

Sales of the PS4 in Japan had a rather sizable spike around march due to a slew of big games released back to back, but a new period of relative drought slowed that momentum down.

This did not prevent Sony’s console from achieving a new sales milestone, and thanks to today’s Media Create chart combined with historical data, we learn that the console has sold just over one and a half million units in the archipelago of the rising sun. To be more precise, 1,500,886 PS4 units have found a loving Japanese home since launch in February last year.

Below you can the weekly figures of the PS4 in Japan since launch, alongside a graph showing the sales trends up to May 31st.
