Today Nippon Ichi Software revealed the first screenshots of the PS4 port of its dungeon crawling JRPG Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain.

The game was originally released in Japan in June 2016, and never localized. Set into a town called Refrain built on top of a dangrous labyrinth, the player is a legendary magical book that accompanies his owner, a powerful witch who just volunteered to brave the labyrinth.

While the game is a quite classic dungeon crawling JRPG, it's possible to create "dolls" that fight instead of the player. Each doll can be customized in class and looks, and each class fights in a distinctive way.

Speaking of dolls, new looks for them are basically the only new element of the game introduced for PS4 (besides higher resolution, of course), since this is essentially a straight port.

If you're curious to see the game in motion, you can check out a trailer of the vita version, since none has been released for the PS4 version yet.

A limited edition will be released in Japan, including a pack of 22 tarot cards, a soundtrack with two CDs, and a special box.

The game will release quite soon in Japan, on September 26th, and we'll see if the PS4 version will finally get NIS America to localize it for the west.
