Today Sony can celebrate two sales milestones in Japan, or three, depending on how you look at it.

According to the new figures from Media Create, combined with historical data, Overall PS4 sales have overtaken 4.5 million units, and the console is currently sitting on a total of 4,518,038 units that found a warm and loving Japanese home as of Sunday March 12th, just a little over three years after its launch on February 22nd, 2014.

The PS4 Pro model also reached a milestone, even if much smaller, with over 200,000 units sold in the country. 205,502 PS4 Pro console have been sold-through in Japan since its launch on November 10th, 2016.

The standard PS4 also reached a nice and round number, with over 4.3 million units sold as of last week. To be precise, 4,312,536.

Interestingly, the launch of Nintendo Switch doesn't appear to have significantly impacted PS4 sales in Japan, with Sony's console continuing to sell in consistently solid numbers. Of course, we'll have to wait for a longer time frame in order to see potential longer-term results.
