Sony Computer Entertainment just announced with a press release that the PS4 hit the mark of twenty million units sold worldwide as of March 1st. To be more precise, the console has now sold more than 20.2 million units.

President and CEO Andrew House accompanied the announcement with a comment:

We are so grateful for the enormous support from PlayStation® fans worldwide, and we are truly humbled that gamers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as the best place to play. We remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver unique and interactive entertainment experiences powered by the network and the PS4 system’s deep social capabilities.

The press release also promised to “continue to expand the world of PS4 to deliver entertainment experiences that are only possible on PlayStation.”

That’s definitely quite an achievement, especially considering that the PS4 is only 14 months old.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
