PS4 Update 3.00’s Favorite Groups Clarified, “Majority” of Beta Test Invites Going Out by Today

The PS4 system software update 3.00 “Kenshin” is already in the hands of quite a few beta testers, and SCEA PR Manager Andrew Kelly clarified a couple relevant points in the PlayStation Blog comments.

First of all, the favorite groups feature is more powerful than many might expect. You can add everyone to it, including those who aren’t on your friend list:

“Nope, you can add anyone you want to a Favorite Group. For me, it will be lots of Destiny groups – my Prison Of Elders crew, Vault of Glass crew, etc. Communities is like a big hub where you can discover players around shared interests, regardless of whether you are friends with them or not. Great way to meet new players!”

Secondly, if you’re eagerly awaiting for an invitation, not all were sent yesterday, but the majority should be delivered by today:

“We’re only just starting to send out invites, and they haven’t all been sent yet. Majority of people should have them by tomorrow (Sept 2).”

Finding out if you’re invited is easy, all you have to do is to check your mail:

“If you were selected, you’ll receive an invite with instructions on downloading the beta via email.”

If you do receive an invitation, remember that the beta is under non disclosure agreement, if you leak anything, you do it at your own risk.
