Dead or Alive Xtreme 3’s Free to Play Version for PS4/PS Vita Gets Release Date; Features Detailed

Today Koei Tecmo announced that the free to play version of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will launch in Japan on May 16th on PS4 and PS Vita. This is actually earlier than the “summer” window that was initially announced.

The free to play version (which will be similar to Dead or Alive 5: Last Round‘s Core Fighters) will allow players to freely use Kasumi in every feature excluding the casino. In order to unlock more content they’ll be able to purchase a casino pass and each additional character separately.

Incidentally, you won’t be able to gift bikini to girls that you haven’t purchased.

Characters will cost 1,200 yen ($11.2) plus taxes on PS4 and 1,100 yen ($10.3) on PS Vita, while the casino pass will cost 2,000 yen ($18.7) plus tax on both platforms.

Save data from the free to play version will carry over to the full version should one decide to purchase it.

This is surely a good chance to try the game out, even if the inability to take advantage of the casino to make Zack money fast will probably cripple you in Owner Mode, limiting your ability to gift Kasumi the sexier swimsuits, that aren’t available in Girl Mode.
