PS4/PS Vita Exclusive Super Robot Wars V Announced; Coming Next Year With English Subtitles

on June 4, 2016 5:05 AM

During a livestreamed event on Nico Nico, Bandai Namco finally announced the new mainline chapter of the Super Robot Wars series, Super Robot Wars V.

The game will be released on PS4 and PS Vita in 2017. Further good news are that the game will be published in Asia in addition to Japan, and it will include English subtitles (on top of Korean and Traditional Chinese) like the upcoming Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers.

Yes, this means that we’re getting a mainline Super Robot Wars title in a language that most of the world can understand. We’ll probably still need to import or to get the game digital from the local PSN, as normally there are licensing problems in officially bringing to the west a crossover series involving so many licenses. Yet, this is so much better than having the game exclusively in Japanese.
