World of Final Fantasy looks absolutely adorable. There are no two ways around it, and today Square Enix released a batch of screenshots and artwork giving us one more glimpse on the game.

We see lots of the classic Final Fantasy characters that will appear in the game, and the Mirages, which are a key mechanic for the game.

Mirages can be used in many way. They can free a path in the world, or serve as obstacles, they can carry you around and and you can ride the larger ones. Riding a mirage will let you move at twice the speed than walking.

Mirages can be acquired by fighting them and weakening them. Once you do, you can achieve their "gem," and they'll fight on your side (sounds vaguely familiar...). When a mirage is ready to be captured, it will shine.

You can freely rename your mirage, and they will participate in battle using the classic ATB (Active Time Battle) gauge that you're probably already familiar with.

You can check out the gallery below. The press release explicitly mentions that the screenshots are from the PS4 version. World of Final Fantasy will release in 2016 for PS4 and PS Vita.
