Today Square Enix finally released the first screenshots and artwork of the upcoming sequel of Dragon Quest Heroes, aptly titled Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End.

The game is set in a continent with seven kingdoms, that have been at peace for a long time. Yet, as predicted by the contents of an ancient prophecy, stability suddenly collapses and war breaks out.

The male hero Razer is studying at the academy in the kingdom of Orenka, while the female heroine is Theresia, class president at the academy and Razer’s cousin. She’s more level headed than her quite rash relative. They’re both caught in the chaos caused by war.

We also get to see more of the characters of the game, all designed by Akira Toriyama: the prince of Jaywar Tsuzar, King Zebion (who is aptly the king of Zebion) and his vassal, the redhead Ornese.

Finally, we learn that the debut of the first trailer of the game is scheduled for February 24th, at 3 PM Japan time.

Dragon Quest Heroes II will release in Japan for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita on May 27th. A western release still hasn’t been announced.
