PSP2 to Have 3G Support

Andriasang reports that Japanese newspaper Nikkei has some details about the soon to be announced PSP2.

According to the article the PSP2 will feature 3G capability, allowing gamers access to games, movies and possibly other apps even when a wifi hotspot isn’t near. This is fantastic news for us PSP fanboys who’d like to see Sony’s handheld get a leg up this generation and possibly not tank like the first PSP.

Nikkei also mentions the console may have an OLED (organic light-emitting diode)¬†screen. A fairly new technology, OLEDs are primarily used on flexible screens that don’t require a backlight. They also mention the screen will be larger than the first PSP, maybe we’ll be able to fold the handheld for easy storage? Frankly, my fat hands can barely comfortably hold the wafer-thin portable consoles of this generation.
