Quantum Theory No Longer PS3 Exclusive

on December 7, 2009 5:32 PM

Sony fanboys, this is your time to let out one big collective sigh. Quantum Theory, from Tecmo Koei, a title that was being touted as a PS3 Gears of War killer, is now multiplatform. It has been announced that the 3rd person action title will be hitting the Xbox 360 this spring as well. I know many hardcore brand loyalists will be distraught by this decision while those in the MS camp will be pointing fingers whilst chanting na, na, na, na, na, na. While I’m surprsed this announcement comes this late it makes you wonder about Tecmo’s motivations. Perhaps development costs went over budget and they had to ensure a return on their investment. Or it was never exclusive to begin with. Either way, now everyone will be able to play this highly stylized shooter this Spring. For more information check out the press release below.

Many years have passed since the world war inflicted catastrophic damage on the human race, leaving only a few survivors. In their new community “Cocoon,” life has been threatened by a black material called Erosion, creating a post-apocalyptic environment. Surviving humans recruit a militia to conquer the Erosion and set out to take down the evil, “Living Tower”. Arriving at the scene is the stalwart warrior Syd, whose only intentions are to destroy the Tower. He meets the beautiful and mysterious Filena as they both ascend to the top in their search for answers. The erosion of the Tower intensifies as the players climb up through the moving landform.
