NetherRealm Studios really loves crossovers, and especially those among its own fighting universes. During the Pro Series Grand Finals hosted today in Hollywood, the developer and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that another popular character from Mortal Kombat is coming to Injustice 2.

That beloved character is none other than the God of Thunder himself, Raiden, and he will be added as DLC part as Fighter Pack 2 this October.

Raiden isn't the first Mortal Kombat character to appear in Injustice 2, as Sub-Zero has been playable for a while, released within the first fighter pack.

The God of Thunder definitely appears not to have lost his spark (pun entirely intended), and he definitely does not appear out of place among DC Comics's superheroes, especially thanks to an appropriate hero suit that makes him look like he always belonged there.

You can check out what I mean in the rather spectacular trailer at the bottom of this article, and if you're not familiar with Injustice 2, or want a refresher, you can also read our quite positive review of the game.

Injustice 2 is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One, while a mobile version is also playable on iOS and Android.
