This summer, Ubisoft has been investing a lot of time into making Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege a better game. Today the publisher has released a new update for the game that makes significant modifications to the game’s servers and more.
According to Ubisoft, this new patch allows custom matches have lower requirements for being hosted on dedicated servers. Before the new update, dedicated servers required custom games to have a full lobby within the first 10 minutes of the match. The new update now only requires only two players in a match to get dedicated servers, unfortunately, as a result of the new update, player-hosted online lobbies are no longer available.
Alongside more stable servers, Ubisoft is also tweaking the servers in Terrorist Hunt to prevent host migration interruptions. Additionally, a new voice chat system is currently in development to provide clearer communication.
Lastly, the new patch makes changes the vaulting animation to provide a better indication as to where the vaulter is aiming after he or she jumps. In the past, there was a lag between when a person landed from a vault and when the character model would show where they were aiming.
If you would like more information on the game, be sure to check out the patch size for Season 3, Rainbow Six Siege reaching 20 million registered players as well as the introduction of alpha packs to the game.
