Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus May Be Heading to Vita and Mobile According to ESRB Listing (UPDATED)

UPDATE – Originally this article reported that Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus was coming to both PS3 and PS Vita, but the game has only officially been announced as a PS3-exclusive title, and the information in the post has been corrected to reflect that.

It’s been quite some time since we’ve had a big, full-on Ratchet and Clank adventure – All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault provided some smaller thrills and the duo’s appearance in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was a nice diversion, but overall it’s been a long time coming for a “true” Ratchet and Clank game.

Luckily, the final installment of the “Future” series, Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus will be heading over to PS3 in the near future, but it also looks like the new game might be making its way over to other platforms aside. In an ESRB certification page for Into the Nexus, the platforms listed that the title will be releasing on include the PS3, but also provides listings for PS Vita and Mobile, suggesting that the game may also be heading on over to Sony’s handheld – presumably via CrossBuy and CrossPlay – and allowing purchasers of the console version to play the portable version.

The “Mobile” listing is definitely interesting, as the series has always held on to Sony consoles and handhelds each title, aside from Ratchet and Clank: Going Mobile in 2005 – could Insomniac have a mobile version intended for iOS/Android phones or tablets, or some kind of companion app? We’ll have to wait to see just what our favorite Lombax has in store.

While it’s not a 100% confirmation just yet, how would you feel about some portable Ratchet and Clank action, either on Vita or if there is indeed a mobile version coming?
