Ratchet fans have much to look forward to as new Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault details have been shared including information on the PlayStation Vita version of the game.

Tin Giant are working together with Insomniac Games to bring the game over to the PlayStation Vita and implement features such as cross-play and cross-save. Full Frontal Assault, as mentioned during Sony’s Gamescom conference, will support the new cross-buy promotion that allows gamers to get both PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game for the price of one.

The game will make use of the third-person camera that is featured in many of the Ratchet games. Also featured in the game is a base defense element that turns the game into Ratchet meets tower defense.

Competitive multiplayer returns in this game for fans of Up Your Arsenal and Deadlock that were missing the online competition. The mode allows for two to four player support and will feature custom and ranked games. Games start with Recon phase where nodes must be captured. Then Squad phase where players must build base defenses and squads of minions. It all ends with Assault phase that has players trying to attack and destroy generators in an opponent’s base.

The return of competitive multiplayer is a welcomed feature along with the Vita version to make this a highly desired want for fans of the series.
