Rayman Joins Super Smash Bros For Wii U/3DS … As A Trophy?

on July 14, 2014 9:40 AM

Everyday Sakurai drops a new screenshot for Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS. These screenshots usually show off new stages, assist characters, fun moments between characters, and plain old trophies.

Today, we will be getting a new character reveal which is rumored to be Shulk from Xenoblade. So one would assume that today’s screenshot would have something to do with that character, however it had something to do with another character that seems way out of left field.

Rayman is included in the game, as a trophy. A character that many would have wanted playable, is being left as a trophy. This means that Nintendo went out of their way to get the character in (Rayman is owned by third party Ubisoft), but didn’t use him as a fighter.

This is a pretty odd decision, as the character surely has tons of potential in the arena. Hopefully we’ll be pleasantly surprised soon. You can see the screenshot of Rayman’s trophy below.

One of the few Anime Nerds that won't scare you off during a conversation. A gamer that is, and has always been open to trying new experiences regardless of the resolution or company behind the game. You may think that you enjoy fighters, but this guy has played them all & still spends his time looking for more. Whether he's fighting pink stretchy aliens as Goku, battling reanimated ninjas as Naruto, or warding off swarms of hollowed soldiers as the Chosen Undead, this gamer loves to take the role of the hero in any genre.
