Rockstar Games today announced that the beta for Red Dead Online, the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2, is slated to arrive this week.

The beta for Red Dead Online will start up begin in waves starting tomorrow with some receiving access ahead of others. Beginning on Tuesday, November 27, those that purchased the Ultimate Edition of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be able to jump into the world of Red Dead Online. For others that purchased the game and played it in its first days following release, access will be granted to these players across Wednesday and Thursday. For everyone else, they'll be able to jump in on Friday.

When Red Dead Online was first announced in September, Rockstar Games said that the beta period for this section of the game would launch in November. While we're getting pretty close to the end of the month, this release slate for Red Dead Online still falls in line with that window, proving that they did keep their promise.

Assuming that you jump into Red Dead Online this week when it goes live for you, keep in mind that this is a beta. Rockstar has already stated that they'll be ironing out the kinks in this game mode once it arrives, so things might not be so smooth in its first week, or first few months, for that matter. Hopefully, by staggering its launch in this manner though, Rockstar can at the very least eliminate server issues that might arise had everyone arrived all at once.
