Remember El Shaddai? In Japan They Do, and it’s Getting a Manga

Do you remember El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron? When it was released back in 2011 by UTV Ignition it received a quite positive critical response, but didn’t exactly sell like hotcakes. Yet in Japan it retained a very solid fanbase, solid enough to warrant the serialization of the new manga titled El Shaddai Ceta on the Monthly G Fantasy magazine published by Square Enix.

The manga will debut in February and will offer a “new view on the world of El Shaddai.” Even more interesting is the fact that it’ll be drawn directly by the game’s director and character designer Takeyasu Sawaki.

Could it be the first sign of a resurrection of the IP? We’ll have to wait and see about that, But I can’t say I’m not eager to read the manga.
