Reminder: 2012’s First Indie Retro Powerhouse Comes Out Wednesday for Absolutely Free

A couple months ago I posted an announcement trailer for Abobo’s Big Adventure, a love letter to all the NES games that influenced our 80’s childhoods. The game looked to have potential not because it was a tribute, but because the amount of care and actual thought to all facets of the game was genuine; the total package looked legit, and not like the equivalent of fan fiction.

Good news for those fellow retro/indieheads salivating for a release date; it seems like Team Bobo has already announced that it’ll be available on January 11, this Wednesday, for the astoundingly efficient price of zero dollars. I will most definitely be sure to play it as soon as it comes out and have a review for you folks, but hell, it’s free; why not just download it in three days and show the Team Bobo guys some love?

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
