Or, for all you European people, on Wednesday. Either way, I’d highly recommend giving it a try. Somehow I managed to miss getting my hands on the demo itself at the EA event in NYC last week, but I did get a chance to watch some and it looks fantastic.
The demo for SSX includes two tutorials, four events, and… a skydiving lesson? That’s right, players get to send Zoe (or Mac, if you get a friend to download the demo too) flying through the air, board in tow.
The SSX series had a large foothold on my childhood, specifically SSX Tricky, which was great to come to after a long day sledding in my best friend’s backyard. It was all the fun, with none of the cold, and a mug or two of hot chocolate certainly didn’t hurt. On that long, far-off day when I can finally afford to buy myself either an Xbox 360 or a PS3, you can be sure SSX is going on my list of games to buy.
In the meantime, I’ll just be jealous of everyone getting the game when it releases on February 28th in North America, and March 2nd in Europe. Try not to have too much fun without me.
