Earlier this year, I wrote a post about Remothered: Tormented Fathers, a promising old-school survival horror game, revealing that the game is coming to PS4 and PC sometime this year. Today, developer Stormind Games released a new trailer for the game as its launches on Steam Greenlight, which for those that don't know, is a system that enlists the community's help in picking some of the new games to be released on Steam and also helps developers get some spotlight for their game.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers began as a 2007 passion project from Game Designer Chris Darril back in 2007. The game was intended to be a fanmade remake of the original Clock Tower, but soon became it’s own thing all together. After being momentarily put on the backburner, Darril announced that with Stromind Games the game will release, as mentioned above, in 2017, ten years after it was originally thought up.

According to the game's Steam Greenlight page, Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a psychological 3rd person survival horror game with strong cinematic inspiration and extreme gameplay. Further, psychology plays a huge role within the game, as heroes and enemies are atypical and the line between evil and good is often blurred.

The game follows Rosemary Reed, a 35 year old woman who reaches the house of a retired notary, Dr. Felton, who is affected by a mysterious disease. Rosemary, who is an investigator of some sorts, quickly believes that the disappearance of Dr. Felton's daughter Celeste actually hides a terrible massacre underneath it.

The game's soundtrack is notably composed by Nobuko Toda, who you may know from the Halo, Final Fantasy, and Metal Gear Solid series. It also features the following: real-time loading, movie-like cutscenes, realistic puzzles, no health bars (your body is the only way to understand how you're doing), no guns or powerful weapons, audio clues, and run-and-hide-based gameplay.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers, which is being built in Unreal Engine 4,  is the first game in an intended trilogy. Below, you can check out the new trailer:
