One of the effects of Final Fantasy XI‘s raised level cap, is that Square Enix has had to go back and modify certain formerly “high-level” areas to enhance their formidibility. This is also being extended to certain high-level boss battles. Players now have the option to go back and replay Rise of the Zilart‘s eighth and final missions, in which they are pitted against Kam’lanaut (above) and Eald’narche, respectively.
Winning these new, modified versions of the mission will grant players, “spoils from besting their foe, and spoils from surviving the battlefield…A predetermined amount of special rewards will be given to all those who participate in a successful incursion, including materials for reforging artifact armor to item level 119 and for enhancing relic, mythic, and empyrean weapons.”
Rise of the Zilart was originally released in 2003. The two high-tiered battlefields are currently being tested.
