Reports Say Another 100,000 Copies of Tales of Xillia Shipped

on September 9, 2011 4:00 PM

The news yesterday was an official statement by Namco Bandai stating they had shipped 500,000 copies of Tales of Xillia for its launch this week, but now news comes in from Mainichi that they shipped an extra 100,000 copies yesterday to keep up with demand, which is rather high. Actual sales figures aren’t in yet, but retailers are reporting being sold out of the title completely. At this rate, we’ll see shipments pushing a million copies by the end of the year, which is rather astounding for an Asia-only release.

Why am I covering this game so much? Well, you don’t know me if you’re asking that question! While high shipments and sales in the East don’t necessarily translate into a Western release, the hype machine for this title seems to have blown up over here, as well, which may prompt Namdai to check into a Western localization. Did anyone else import the title?
