Resident Evil 4 has been ported to a billion different platforms at this point but as of today, it has finally landed on the Nintendo Switch.

Ahead of its formal launch today, we had the chance to get access to RE4 on Switch beforehand and were able to capture some gameplay footage for you to see it in action. As I'm sure you expect, hey, this looks like Resident Evil 4 all right. For the most part, the game graphically looks the same as the past HD releases of RE4 so if you were expecting a substantial upgrade in any way, that's not going to be found in this version.

I've actually been toying around with this port personally and for the most part, it's about what I expected it to be. Resident Evil 4 still holds up pretty well for the most part in 2019 so it's an easy game to return to. Plus, being able to play this game in handheld mode is something I never could've dreamed of about 10 years ago. It's still a fun game even if it's nothing more than what I thought it'd be.

I should have some more extended thoughts on this Switch port of Resident Evil 4 up on the website in the coming days. Until that time, feel free to check out the opening minutes of the game running on Switch in our video down below.
