Resident Evil 4 “Ultimate HD Edition” Coming to Steam at the End of February

Capcom’s survival horror modern classic, Resident Evil 4, will rise from the dead once more.

Although an HD version of the game was released on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, this PC edition seems to be the superior Resident Evil 4 experience.

Capcom has this to say:

Resident Evil 4 will include Steam platform support with Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Trading Cards, global leaderboards, and full game controller support. The new PC version will include everything from the prior iterations including subtitle support in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese as well as previously released bonus content such as the Separate Ways epilogue.

Here is a list of features for those who like bullet points:

  • Stunning HD running at a smooth 60 frames per second for the first time.
  • A complete visual overhaul has been performed to bring this revered title to the highest graphical quality ever.
  • Fully optimized for the wide screen, texts have been sharpened and textures have been upgraded on characters, backgrounds and in-game objects.
  • Steam platform support with Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Trading Cards, global leaderboards, and full game controller support.
  • This new PC version will include everything from the prior iterations including subtitle support in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese as well as previously released bonus content such as the Separate Ways epilogue.

This is by far my favorite Resident Evil game and after playing it again on the PS3, I can say that it still holds up after all of these years. PC gamers are in for a treat with this edition of the game.

Can we expect this for the current gen consoles? No word on that yet but if there is, we’ll be sure to tell you.

Resident Evil 4: Ultimate HD Edition will be released on Steam on February 28th. Check out the trailer and screenshots to marvel at the HD goodness.
