Do you remember that interview with D.C. Douglas (voice of Albert Wesker) nearly a month ago? In it he said, “Hell yeah! I know RE6 is in the works, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to audition for it…or you guys would bug Capcom into casting me in it! I’m workin’ it, baby!” Based on his words, there’s high chance the 6th installment of the Resident Evil series is currently being developed. However, that is old news. What’s new news consists of RE6 being on the PS3 before any other system.
According to EverythingHQ, Sony has offered Capcom a fee (payment) which they are considering. If this fee is met with a signed contract, expect to see RE6 as a PS3 exclusive for half-a-year to a year from its release. It’s no surprise if some gamers may be thinking “who cares about Resident Evil anymore, they ruined the franchise with number five”. It is true that Resident Evil 5 leaned away from the horror genre in favor of a more “action-y” feel. Luckily, it has been reported that RE6 is going back to its roots. So this timed exclusive may be a smart move on Sony’s part…or incredibly unsound.
