The Resident Evil series has a place in the hearts of all horror survivor enthusiasts. Sadly, to some RE4 was the last, best Resident Evil game. Chris’ outing in Resident Evil 5 was widely criticized by critics and gamers alike. Assuredly, those same fans must hate the upcoming Operation Raccoon City by TacticalSix. When people think of Resident Evil aren’t they supposed to think of survival horror and not an action-adventure shooter game? Frankly, that view may change altogether whether good or bad. That is 100% fact based by Capcom employee, Masachika Kawata’s interview with Marcaplayer.
“I can’t say if we’re going to make it survival horror or a shooter, but I can say that it’ll be totally different.”
Mr. Kawata explains that every aspect of previous Resident Evil games will be changed for Resident Evil 6. Let’s just hope he’s talking about the graphics and stunning resale value…heh. He goes on to explain that he can’t guarantee whether Resident Evil 6 will be a shooter or horror based which should make many fanboys cry in anguish. I understand the whole wanting to change things for the better but sometimes “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. I can see this problem reaching the point of a petition in the near future if Resident Evil 6 is announced as anything but a horror game. Hang in there RE fans and don’t give up hope quite yet.
