If you loved the 2002 release of Resident Evil, this one is for you, as Capcom officially announced a remake for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, scheduled for release next year.

According to the press release, the remake will come with improved resolution (1080p on next gen) and 3D models, while the audio will be remastered in 5.1.

Players will also be able to select between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, while the classic control scheme will return paired with a new one where the character moves directly in the direction of the analogue stick, matching modern standard. Both options will be regulated by a toggle that can be operated at any moment during gameplay.

The game will be released across North America and Europe in Early 2015, and has good chances to be the best Resident Evil game released in the last few years… which is great and sad at the same time.

Below you can see the first screenshots and a few pieces of artwork.
