Following the one-year anniversary mark and a batch of free DLC and Season Passes given out to its community as a thank you, fans of Titanfall may have even more to look forward to in the near future – namely, the promise of a sequel on the horizon, along with an expansion of what platforms it will be available on.
Speaking in an interview with IGN, Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella confirmed that the company is currently working toward progress on a sequel to Titanfall, its highly-anticipated first-person shooter that released in March 2014 on Xbox One and PC, followed by an Xbox 360 release in the following April.
In the interview with IGN, Zampella confirmed not only that a second Titanfall game will be in development, but also confirming that the game will be releasing as a multi-platform title following numerous rumors on the subject. While the upcoming game has no set title or release window just yet, Zampella detailed in the interview:
“I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don’t know anything about it, or… yeah. So we’re working on a sequel. No official name yet, but we’re working on that. That’s the main focus but we’re starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It’ll be multiplatform.”
Stay tuned for more information on the next title in the Titanfall series as news develops.
