While League of Legends is the most played PC title in the world,  Riot Games doesn't seem content on settling with that. Today they detailed their plans for the League of Legends Championship Series in season 3. The series will feature teams from North America, Asia, and Europe competing for millions in prizes. Regular season matches will take place weekly, and will stream in HD completely free of charge.

Not just adding yet another league to the growing e-sports genre, Riot is putting more than just prize money on the line. While prize pools for the championship series will total out to millions of dollars, salaries will also be up for grabs, as Riot wants to make it clear that being a pro will be a sustainable career choice in League of Legends. The next North American Season Two tournament is set to hit PAX Prime in Seattle, and winners will pre-qualify for the championship series.
